Michigan Mania!

It has always been a dream of Wayne's to return to Ann Arbor for a U of M football game. He was able to make good on his goal this past weekend, as he, Matt, Michael and Grandpa Swan flew back to the city of law school memories and the birthplace of our firstborn son. In addition to the game (U of M vs. U of U!), they were able to visit the campus (with emphasis on the law school, of course!), buy a ton of University of Michigan memorabilia at the M Den, golf at Huron Hills, and see the two student housing apartments Wayne and I resided in during our three years in Ann Arbor. On game day, they were treated to both a pre-game lunch and a post-game dinner at the home of Mark and Linda Johnson, good friends from Utah who settled in Ann Arbor and raised their family there. They were very gracious hosts--thanks Johnsons!
Below are some pictures from their trip:
The gang outside the University of Michigan stadium before the big game. Can you pick out the sole U of U fan in the group? Oh, well--we love him anyway! By the way, Grandpa Swan was the only one who was still wearing a smile after the game--Utes win it by 2.

Matt and Michael in the stadium, along with 107,000 other fans!

They don't call it the "Big House" for nothing!

The men outside our second apartment there--1223 McIntyre Drive in the Northwood IV section of student housing. This was Matt's home for the first year of his life. I have such sweet memories there!

Wayne and I lived here during our first year of law school. 2210 Cram Place--the name says it all! It was a tiny apartment with one small room that served as a living room and kitchen, then an even smaller room where we had a double bed that practically took up all the space! We were happy to move to a two-story, two-bedroom townhouse in Northwood IV for our remaining years in Ann Arbor. It seemed like a palace after Cram Place!

This sounds like such a fun trip with the guys! I'm glad the Utes won, though!
